DAPORIJO, Jul 16: One person was found unconscious with multiple injuries on the body at main road near State Bank of India office Daporijo this morning. Later he died at district hospital.
Deceased has been identified as Jiton Gogoi (45), who was driver of PWD division Dumporijo. The onlookers found him unconscious at around 5.00 am and immediately informed to police station.
Police along with the help of public rushed him to district hospital for the emergency treatment where he succumbed.

Expressing shock at mysterious death AAPSU team headed by vice president Happy Toko visited the middle school Mani Doimukh today to enquire the cause of death of school student. Further apex student organization alleged that negligence of the school authority led to the death of late Tagi. It also demanded the school authority to terminate the person responsible for the incident.

ITANAGAR, Jul 16: Reacting to the complaint lodged by one Tilling Tassang with the Lower Subansiri DC for immediate shifting of the buried mortal remains of late Kapu Tajum, the All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) has asked the DC not to entertain the complaint.
In a letter addressed to the DC, the Association feared that it may lead to communal tension. Where Tilling Tassang was when the body was buried there, the ANYA questioned.
The All Raga Area Students’ Union (ARASU) has also reacted strongly to the comments of the various organizations upon the burial of late Kapu Tajum.

Hunting and fishing in Papum Poma banned
ITANAGAR, Jul 16: Hunting, swimming, fishing and picnicking has been banned in Papum Poma area. The decision was taken jointly by Jote Panchayat Youth Association, Area Protection Committee of Papum Poma area, All Youth Association of Papum Poma area, Panchayat leaders, Gaon Buras and public of Papum Poma area.
In a joint declaration, they requested the enforcing agencies and the general public for cooperation to control hunting and killing of wild animals for commercial purpose. It further warned of strict action against violators.
CoSAAP mourns death
ITANAGAR, Jul 16: Confederation of Service Association of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) condoled the death of Tage Mado, mother of Tage Grayu, finance secretary, CoSAAP, after prolonged illness on July 14.
Wife of Tage Tajo of Mudang Tage village of Lower Subansiri district, Mado was a hardworking and loving mother of four sons, two daughters. She also left behind many grand child.
The CoSAAP members observed two minutes silence as a mark of respect late Mado prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul. They also conveyed heartfelt condolence to bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.

Disruption of roads is not only detrimental for progress of works but retard development. So the protection works with RCC wire cage in the right bank is being taken up in war footing. Machineries are being brought to be engaged for diversion of the river course which may start from tomorrow, said the OC. He further informed that for long term protection of the banks, 500 mtrs and 300 mtrs of guide bunds on the upper and lower banks will be constructed in the next working season. Enhance allocation of NEC fund: CM
ITANAGAR Jul 16: Chief Minister Nabam Tuki today reiterated his suggestion that the annual plan allocation for the North East Council (NEC) should be at least Rs 3000 crore to bring the region at par with the rest of the country through a special dispensation.
As per the XII Five Year Plan document, the projected outlay for the Annual Plan

Speaking during the 62nd Plenary of NEC at New Delhi, Chief Minister observed that considering the pending liabilities for funding ongoing projects of the XI Plan Period, very little room would be available for taking up new projects with this meager allocation.
“This leaves us with a peculiar situation wherein, while there are many important new projects to be taken up, due to resource limitation the available fund will have to be earmarked for ongoing projects. The only way out is a special dispensation with adequate allocation so that the development deficient regions can fast track developmental projects,” he pointed.
Tuki observed that with meager allocation and further cut, the role of NEC in the overall developmental process will continue to be minimal.

In his address the Governor said that the North Eastern States of India are a critical part of the future growth, development and strategic positioning of India. Stating that Eight Countries are within radius of 1000 K.M of North East, which constitutes 24.6% of the world population and one of the largest economies, the Governor said that North East has to graduate from a transit route to a driver of economic growth looking East to and fro.
In order to fulfil the strategic and developmental imperative, the region needs to handle the challenge of isolation, both due to the physical terrain as well as the historical accident of partition, which are affecting the costs of imports and exports as well as the integration with the rest of India.
The Governor emphasised on enhancing transportation and communication infrastructure, including waterways, wealth creation through industrial development and tourism and manage immigration. He also stressed on harnessing the economic potential and balanced exploitation of the rich bio diversity.
Highlighting that more than 80% of the people of the region reside in the rural areas and depend on agriculture, the Governor called for more emphasis on agriculture sector along with horticulture and other allied sectors. New scientific methods and technologies must be made available to the agrarian community, he added.
Stressing on empowerment of the people of the region through inclusive governance, the Governor pointed that involving them in governance at micro level will instil sense of belongingness and lead to efficient and maximum utilization of resources. JHARODA KALAN, NEW DELHI, Jul 16: A group of probationer assistant commissioner of police (ACPs) and Delhi & Andaman & Nicobar Island Police Service (DANIPs) today exhorted the people of North East living in Delhi to befriend their mainland counterparts, come out of their NE cocoon and refrain from leading careless life style to help end discrimination against them.
The exhortation followed an address by Delhi Police resource person, Pradeep Kumar, a senior journalist from Arunachal Pradesh, who blamed social profiling as the root causes of alleged discrimination against North East Indians by citing reports of two studies conducted by North East Support Centre & Helpline, which was set up in 2008.

But the studies pointed out that they face discrimination like, sexual abuse, physical attacks, vulgar remarks, poor social profiling and economic exploitation. The mindset of social profiling of the NE people is that they are strangers, free culture, cheap and do anything one likes, you can get free. Social profiling is also seen in the attitudes of local police when they insult, deceive, ignore and deny the complaints and connive with perpetrators in many cases, Kumar pointed out while expressing concern at the rising crime against women in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, particularly against the NE people.
Advocating setting up of a dedicated court for speedy trail of cases of crimes against women, a forensic laboratory to end Delhi Police dependence on outside laboratories, a recognised shelter home for victims of sex crimes, children and hapless people and NE state bhawans to play a proactive role in bringing awareness among their people besides setting up a 24X7 helpline, the probationers said such steps would go a long way in containing crimes against women.
Another officer trainer lauded Nagaland women cops for their discipline and positive attitude while on duty during the Common Wealth Games here, but expressed his dismay as many NE girls have developed intimacy with youth of African origin, many of whom have been found indulging in crimes, including drug smuggling. Despite all out efforts to contain crimes against the NE people, Delhi Police are always at the receiving end, said joint commissioner of police (Training) Robin Hibu and joined his young officers in appealing to the NE people in understanding the cultural, religious and diversified social mosaic of India, particularly NTC.
Maharashtra Police have taken cue from Delhi Police for the safety and security of NE people, said, Hibu, coordinator for safety and security of NE people living in NTC.
Regretting that he had had facilitated sending mortal remains of 11 NE youths who had committed suicide during the last 11 months, he urged the parents to not be carless towards their children.
He directed the officers to care for those who are left out and neglected and award exemplary punishment for crimes against women, particularly from the NE.
When contacted, NE youths expressed their strong resentment against the NCT Govt, NE MPs’ Forum, NEC, union tribal affairs and DoNER ministries for doing anything tangible for the safety and security of NE people.
While Huten Alexander, a student from Nagaland, Manipur social worker Wang Rangang and Arunachal’s J T Tagam, presently preparing for competitive examinations, lauded Delhi Police for some visible steps but blamed lack of political will in ensuring more steps in that direction.
When contacted, All India Tribal MPs’ Form convenor Takam Sanjoy informed that the security for NE people in Delhi, particularly women section is on the top most priority of the parliamentarians and the Forum of Tribal Officers in Delhi.

Raga PHC crying for attention

The Public Health Centre (PHC), Raga is running without doctor for last 9 months i.e. from Oct' 2012. The patients of this area have to make a long way to Ziro which is 70 K.M away from Raga for treatment and sometimes they die on the way. The condition is likely to worsen if immediate doctor and other relief materials do not reach within a week.
I along with the general Public of Raga area request Directorate of Health Service, Govt, of Arunachal Pradesh to send adequate relief team and materials with 2 (two) Nos. of Doctors to normalize the condition immediately within 3 days. Whom to blame?
Dear Editor,
Through your esteemed daily I would like to pen down few lines regarding pathetic road condition and paralyzed garbage management system of capital region. Most of the tourist goes back from Banderdewa after seeing pothole filled roads and flawless garbage. We are travelling through a Rocket Fast period where not only the human populations but also the buildings are increasing second by second to compensate human populations which lead to deforestation and sometimes cause death of human life too. Due to improper planning and negligence by people against administrative order they construct their houses without proper drainage system. The destination of sewage products is our national Highway Road as we can see during rainy days. The Road become mother of potholes and most of the people doesn’t listen or just ignore and throw their garbage everywhere wherever they want (mera kya jata hai attitude). But question is whom to blame? Is it us who is neglecting our duty or the Administration who should always be there to clean garbage? So why don't we unite and give a hand together to make our land clean and beautiful as mother nature gifted to us instead of pointing at others.

Through your esteemed daily, we the 2nd year students of Govt. College Doimukh would like to draw the attention of the Administrative chair holders and the common public of Papum Pare district towards the administration of the said college.
As the students are about to enter 2nd year, the main concern for the students is that college is not offering honour course to the students. All the students who have qualified for honours are being asked to pursue further studies outside the catchments area. This situation is giving serious trouble to the students as they may not get admission in other institution. It is natural that priority will be given to the students of their own respective college/institutions. The students of said college has got accustomed to the surrounding and are also ready to construct their own classroom but they only need qualified lecturers, who can guide them. Now, the question is though college was established last year itself, what were the higher authorities were doing till now? The whole system is draining to its most pathetic state. The administration and higher authorities must look into it and act promptly.

Department, especially SPD (state project director) SSA to prepare seniority list
of all the SSA TEACHERS in the state and upload the same in the official website
as done by Director, (Director of Elementary education). This kind of new change
will help each and every SSA teachers to know their up-
Moreover, this kind of changes will also help the department to maintain transparency in every teacher related problems. The year and date of appointment of the teachers, academic and professional qualification that particular teachers possess should be updated.
